Earthly elegance & antiquity in one of the most accommodating journals to work in.
Handstitched, Coptic-bound books are beautiful! They exhibit a rustic elegance and antiquity in one of the most accommodating journals to work in – as they lay completely flat without damaging the spine, giving journal users unhampered access to the entirety of every page.
The spines are exposed, bound with a link stitch first used by the Copts in ancient Egypt to bind papyrus into the first codices which became the preferred format for sacred texts. My preferred Coptic stitch is that originally used in Ethiopian Coptic binding, using multiple needles.
Both hard and softcover Coptic bound books are filled with the rustic elegance of khadi handmade cotton rag papers with natural deckled edges. Khadi papers are ideal for all painting, drawing, and writing media.
Price range $130 - $165.
